Enjoying a breakfast out with friends is one of my favorite things to do but it is especially fun at Neighbarista on Lyons in Newhall. I don’t know what it is about it but it just such a perfect mix of a good ole fashioned diner and a culinary treat. The ambiance is warm, cozy and welcoming and the food is delicious.
Neighborista serves Intelligentsia Coffee, which is a brand I recognize from my 20-something daughter driving to Los Angeles to get. I feel so hip that we have it here in Santa Clarita! Combine that yummy coffee with their house made flavored creamers and you’ve got the perfect start to the breakfast. They normally offer vanilla and Mexican chocolate creamer but this time of year they have their pumpkin spice and it is so dreamy!
My friend was so happy to see they had a whole menu of Eggs Benedict. Their omelettes are so yummy but I went for the Eggs & Bacon this time- bacon as crispy as they can get it, of course! My other friend went for a good ole fashioned biscuits and gravy while our other friend ordered an egg and bacon combo with French toast. Everyone loved their breakfasts.
One thing I loved about this restaurant is that it is never feels too fast to serve. Some breakfast joints around Santa Clarita bring everything out so fast that you barely have time to catch up with your friends. I never feel rushed here. On the flip side, I suppose if you are in a hurry that could be a problem, but in today’s case, I was thankful for the time with my friends.
Normally, the wait for a table isn’t too bad if you get there before 9. If you are after 9, expect a bit of a wait on the weekends but there is comfortable seating out front to wait.
I definitely want to try their baked goods sometime. They advertise their fresh pies and the case of baked goods we passed by when walking in looked amazing.
